WOW!!! It's been 3 weeks since I blogged heh heh... did anyone miss me??? Hafnt blogged much coz haf been rather bz esp w exams coming up n also there hasn't been much to blog about. 1 of the more interesting things that happened was CL's hen's nite last Fri where we went Goutham's Penthouse in Clarke Quay. It was my first hen's nite and I gota say that though I haven't been to any hen's nite before that, this must have had been 1 of the more "mild" hen's nite (well i dunno if her frenz saboed her aft dat lah...) as we didn't get the dancers to do a "special" dance for her, unlike some of the other hens' frenz dat nite... all in all it was rather fun :)
& finally the Lancer is back w us after being rented out for 2 months. The guy actually wanted to rent for another 3 months but Dar only wanted to rent it for another 1 month but I was indignantly against it!!! I mean Dar still had e van to drive whilst I had to cab for my lessons and sometimes it can be really difficult to flag dwn a cab :( So anyways the guy is now renting fr someone else but apparantly another of Dar's fren wana rent the car for 2 months and Dar is contemplating it since my lessons are gona stop soon (can't wait for the exams to be over!!!) and he cld get income out of it.
May be finalising our wedding dinner banquet soon :) Have been to 2 BS as well but other than that, wedding plans have been kinda stagnant heh. Luckily frenz have been offering to go BS scouting w me but I dun really wana go on wkends and feel bad asking them to take leave on wkdays... guess shall hafta see how it goes. Stay tuned to this page for more! :P

My Sister's Keeper
Have heard that the books by Jodi Picoult are good and have been meaning to read them but cldn't seem to find them in the library. Finally decided to reserve for the books online and surprisingly, there was no "queue" for it, unlike the previous time when I borrowed David Edding's new series; guess they do have the books, juz not @ the branches where I go to. (BTW, have any of u been to the Central Library? They categorise part of the books by the type of books e.g. Romance, Thriller, Sci-Fi etc i dun like it!!! Still prefer the conventional way of categorising by author's name).
Collected my 3 books about a week later; Mercy, Vanishing Acts and of coz My Sister's Keeper. I am glad I kept My Sister's Keeper for last coz it has gotta be 1 of the best books I have ever read! Mercy was okay and I thot Vanishing Acts was a little dull but nonetheless, all of the storylines are still good. :) My Sister's Keeper is a story about a gal who sues her parents for "abusing" her body; she was genetically born so as to use her cells to save her sister from a very rare form of leukemia. But as the sister kept on getting relapses, she had to give her palettes to her sister so everytime her sister was in hospital, she was too, only that she was actually a healthy gal.
Almost cried when I read till the end of the book and also evoked a lot of emotions and thots in me; how much can a parent love their children? What is just sufficient and when does it cross the border to "too much"? I'm sure the love that a parent has for any kid is boundless and most importantly, every parent would want the best for their child. However, I felt that the parents shouldn't have neglected their other child despite the fact that 1 of their children is v ill. I guess for children, some things they may not mention, but it sticks with them for a long time to come and it is their childhood that moulds them into the people they will be in future.
I think of my Mum and her love for me and not only did she just care about the family, she also cared about the other people around her. I often wonder how she can do that and still has so much to give. For those of u looking for a good book to read, this is definitely a gd recommendation... I am definitely goin to buy the book for keeps!

Another Year Older...
& soon I will be hitting the big "3-0"!!! *gasp* It's a little hard to imagine that I have already spent 3 decades on this earth. & whilst I m lucky to have a babyface, I'm sure those tell-tale signs of wrinkles n watsoever will soon be appearing... sighz...
Didn't really do anything special ystd coz Dar was working n I had tut. But he surprised me by sending me an sms wishing me Happee Birthday @ 12 plus am!!! Was pleasantly surprised coz he had dropped me off @ home n I thot he had gone back to sleep heh heh. Waited for him to knock off fr work ystd n then we went w Daddy to Chinese Swimming Club for dinner. Initially wanted to bring them to The Cathay Rest again for the 1-for-1 but Daddy suggested we go CSC instead coz of the $10 he had to pay every month towards F&B. Food was reasonably priced; we had 4 dishes plus coffee for Dad n Chendol 4 Dar n myself n the bill was only $30+!!! Cheap n food was ok too! They had fondue also... surprise surprise but we were too full to eat it! Perhaps next time. Also q like the club, v cosy feel...
N so today is Dar's bday!!! Rather like the fact that our bdays r only a day apart... it's like an extension of my own bday haha.
