Is that It???

Sleepy recently wrote in to a certain cab company in Singapore to complain about their taxi driver who chided sleepy for giving him $50 as cab fare. He even told me "小姐,帮帮我好吗?“in a sacarstic tone claiming that he had no change as he has just started his shift. He then asked me to pay by Nets without telling me that there is a 30C service charge!!! Although it is only 30C, I was irked and decided to write in as this was NOT the first time that I have been chided for giving $50 as cab fare. U got no change, I also no change mah!!!

So anyways, the company replied saying that they have "investigated the matter" and that the "said driver was given a stern warning" and how my complaint "would be filed in his service record and his performance monitored." The letter also stated that drivers are expected to keep sufficient change for commuters and if "should drivers find themselves short on small change, they are advised to drive to the nearest petrol kiosk or shop to break the note" and later "send the passenger back to the desire destination, AT NO EXTRA COST". I didn't know that!!! I always thot that they wld still let the meter run if we were to go somewhere to get change. Anyways I confirmed this with another cab driver the other day and he told me that indeed, they are not supposed to charge the customer if they need to break the note.

The thing is, whilst I can understand that the cabbie may not have enough change coz prolly the past 2-3 passengers all gave big notes, can't you ask me nicely if I have small change??? and if I have, I wld definitely give them small change. And if it is in their policy to go somewhere to break the note, why can't they just do that and explain nicely??? Afterall we are paying for this supposed service wor!!! I juz hope that I do not meet another cabbie like that, I will really scold him upset down. And the company didn't refund me my 30C!!! :P
