Reflections on my Special Day

It was a lovely day... starting a new chapter of my life with the someone I have chosen to spend the rest of my life with & witnessed by our family members and closest frenz... thank goodness it stopped raining by noon time & we could have the ceremony outside.
Dar had to go down early to help shift the "tent" to the position we wanted. His friend who was also the owner of the restaurant was really helpful; coming down early to help & also arranging for the electrician to come down to "stub" the electricity so that the tent could be shifted. The poor guys had to shift the tent in the rain & the florist also had to decorate the tent in the rain which had her lamenting that it was hard-earned money hee hee. It was really q pretty with the sunflower decos; brite & cheery :)

Me reached @ ard 11 with the makeup artist and she started dolling me up. In the meantime, Dar & his best fren Clifford arranged the chairs and the other necessary setup. By the time I was ready, (Dar got his hair styled as well and his hair was full of glitter as requested by me & Clifford urged the make-up artist to put more haha) it was already 130pm!!! Wanted to go out together with Clifford & the makeup artist for lunch but we still have yet to reherse so they went off wout us whilst we practise our walk-in. In the midst of which, Dad arrived w my china relatives but to my dismay, he didn't bring Granny along. Wanted to go back to fetch her but as she was feeling giddy, she decided to rest @ home.
Then Chris came & hiao me started taking pics whilst Dar did more touchups to the set up. Which is why we didn't really take many pics together coz by the time the ceremony was over... i was eager to rush off for the food :( can only blame my greediness... sigh...

By then, guests have started arriving & they were asked to sign these little cards that I printed out. I must say they were really q nice coz the paper I bought was a bit shiny *beams* However we still could not start as the management somehow misplaced the pins which are to be used to pin the skirting together. It was actually rather confusing coz we had the idea that someone was going out to get the pins but it just never came... in the end, they used staples or something & finally everyone could gather around the brite & cheery tentage :)

We were kinda expecting the emcee to say some stuff before introducing us but he juz immediately introduced us!!! So there was a bit of delay in playing our march-in song. I wonder how the mega stars do it, whilst I was walking in & looking @ everyone whipping out their cameras to take pics of us, I had to do my best to surpress my laughter & also I didn't know where to look!!! But I thnk we walked too fast as we reached our seats before the chorus started... oh well... i guess in time to come, no one will rem that :P

We got my ex GRL, Mr Gopala to be our solemnisor & he was q witty. Prior to that, Dar was checking w him how the set up should be like as we wanted to be photographed against the nice fountain/trees behind so there was a bit of chairs shifting. Following that was the signing of the document, exchanging of vows & rings, & TA-DA, we r pronounced man & wife. :))) Was q nervous actually as I didn't know when to say the "I Do" & "I Will" & also coz our rings were actually detachable, I was afraid that I would drop them but everythng went smoothly.

Next was the photo-taking session w family then friends. It seems as though Dar had more frenz... but oh well, expected since he had a couple of years ahead of me mah :PPP Then everyone proceeded indoors for the food & we mingled around, proposed a toast, mingled some more (though I didn't really get to tok 2 everyone... soweee...), before everyone baded farewell.

It was a rather tiring day but I can't deny that it was a very happy day for me. As it was a small ceremony, I couldn't invite everyone that I would have wanted to invite and am v touched that people like Dewdrops & Stella msged me their well-wishes... thanks galz!!! & having my really good frenz witness this special day; the gals who watched me grew up & r still a huge part of my life -- Dora & Siping, the gals whom I spent crazee days with under the LT doing anything but studying -- Shan & Qixia to my ex colleagues who are now such gd pals of mine -- Pearl, Da Xiong & Chris & not forgetting my "Ya Huan" MangoJo who kept on stressing me prior to the actual day & for asking the Mangogods to make it stop raining by noon; I couldn't ask for more.

So thanks once again folks... I'll be counting on everyone's help during the wedding banquet ya? :) & with all your blessings, I know Larry & I will live...

Happily Ever After...

PS: wanted to post up some pics but they are not ready & there's something wrg w my phone cam & the cable for the camera doesn't work... so guess u all juz gota wait :P
